External HD Recommendations?

I bought a DS412+ and it has been working perfectly. I have 4 2TB drives in it, so roughly 5.6TB of space since it is configured with SHR management. Right now I am using about 3TB of data on the DS412+ and would like to back that up to an external drive of at least 4TB or 6TB. I would perform weekly backups of the DS412+ and then store the external drive in my safe.

Does anyone have any suggestions for an external drive (at least 4TB)? I would like an affordable choice since the DS412+ cost a pretty penny. Also, having USB 3.0 on it would help!

buy another DS412+ and do network backup, goes automatic, you can do it in a different location so if you house burns down you still have a copy.....

Eeek, way too much money for just a backup of a backup! I don't want to top $500 on this one.

I used to use one of these drives before my DX510...

Set it up in RAID 0 (striped so I get the full 4TB) and used eSATA to connect to the Synology NAS.
Worked perfect as a backup or extra storage space.
