Synology (user) approved router for ds209+?

Postby kerryandjane » Thu Feb 05, 2009 4:15 pm

Hey team i'll be quick to the point
just got the Synology 209+ and i'm dang new to computers. I've looked throughout the forum and found http://synology.com/enu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=3750&p=14749List of routers with PASV FTP issue after upgraded to FW 462
but as you can tell it's a little outdated (last update 2007) i want the perfect router to be able to do it all (ftp, internet remote access and with little hassle as possible) currently i have the WAG200G and googled it and found that some people have been having issues with it. I'm from the country and i'm in the city on holiday till Tuesday next week the hotel has a computer but is connected by FTTH and a pppoe wan so i'm stuck with trying to test out this beast with the internet sharing so if someone can tell me what the perfect wireless router is (with wireless -G for the ipod touch) let me know.
heres a start

    what router do you use?
    is it wireless?
does it do it all without issues?

Franklin what router do you use? what router do you wish you had? if this is a historic topic with updates elsewhere can you please point me in the right direction and delete this puppy?

You can google for whatever product you want and you'll always find someone having a problem with it.

IMO there are no incompatible routers around.

Me and my clients have:

Linksys WAG354G ADSL Modem/Router (wireless)
D-LINK DSL-2640B Wireless ADSL Modem/Router
LevelOne FBR-1407A ADSL Modem/Router
D-LINK DSL-G664T Wireless ADSL Modem/Router

and others without any issues.
