Cannot access diskstation by hostname

Postby tcviper » Mon Aug 06, 2012 1:18 pm

Hello all,

Ive been having this strange issue for a few weeks now and decided to post it here anyway.
At home we have a CISCO 2911 router that runs both DHCP and DNS On it.

All devices on the LAN have a direct IP to the net since we have fiber and 128 ip's :)
Everything works fine on the network except that for some strange reason Im not able to see the Diskstation in the network neighborhood on Windows clients (windows 7). I can see all other pc's and even mac's fine but the Diskstation won't show up.

I can however type in \\diskstation in the explorer and it will open, but the device just wont show up by itself in the network neighborhood, and we do not use any firewall on the clients. Also when i for example use a WD TV Live and choose windows share, the diskstation just will not show up.

Does anyone have any idea what this might be?
Ive already tried enabling local master browser and restarting the router and diskstation but that wont make any difference. It is purely the diskstation that is giving me this problem.
