Mapping and network issue

Postby paktuan » Mon Jul 16, 2012 12:11 pm

I have mapped two drives to my laptop from my synology NAS drive - one for music and one for documents which I have called Library.

The music drive is normally available to me but the Library version will mostly show a red cross against the mapping. Clicking on the mapped reference will normally result in error message saying that the network path was not found. Sometimes it will still find it even though it displays the message.

There seems to be a related network issue in that the diskstation won't appear as a network item when this happens. However, the music mapping still works.

What am I doing wrong?

hello,

how do you map your share?

which OS you're using?

under win7 i always have a small batch file i automatically run when i log into my accout

"
@echo of
net use * /d /y
net use k: \\172.16.0.2\tftp <password> /u:<username>
net use l: \\172.16.0.2\gemeinsam <password> /u:<username>
"

this script works fine with syno and qnap as it connects my shares using my <username> & <password>

i also suggest you to use always the ip address instead of an name
DS-1812+ (8*3 TB)
TS-509Pro (5*1,5 TB)
TS-412 (4* 2 TB)
TS-119PII (1x 300GB)
