Questions about file sharing through NFS/CIFS/AFP? Post it here!

An issue I've run into is that users on Windows 7 need an entry into their hosts file in order to connect to our RS408RP via Windows Explorer. If the hosts file doesn't contain an entry for our NAS then it will lockout their account after 3 attempts.
Is there a reason it does this only for Windows 7 and is there a fix that doesn't involve manually editing everybody's hosts file?
Thank you!

I also should add that it's only browsing via DNS name that doesn't work. If you use IP you can connect to it without any issues. I've verified that both A and PTR records are correct in DNS.
