I'm sharing a volume from a DS508 to a Linux machine by NFS. On the Synology I see lots of messages of the form "lockd: cannot monitor <hostname>." Should these be of any concern? On the client, rpc.statd is running, though I do not see rpc.stated running on the DS508. There is a lockd process on the DS508 though.
