Download Station = Transmission

Postby Karsayor » Sun Mar 11, 2012 7:17 pm

Hi,

I know this may have been discussed many times, but I couldn't find a suitable answer easily. :(

When i use download station with BT Protocol Encryption on DSM 4.0, I can see the download station process, which is "transmissiond" ?!

If this is right, here are my questions :

- Does it means that Synology is using transmission ?
- Is the "BT Protocol Encryption / Always" option the same as the "Force Encryption" in transmission client?
- How can we enable Blocklist ?

Not using Download Station myself, so I wouldn't know. But I'm using Transmission 2.50 (installed with Package Center from SynoCommunity repository) and it uses a settings file called : settings.json
So if there is such a file on your DS it is likely running some version of Transmission.
Find out by searching for the file : > find / -name settings.json
In the settings you could change :
"blocklist-enabled": false,
"blocklist-url" : "http://<address>",

EDIT : seems like this has been done before :
