I can't add new downloads

My download station has been chugging away quite happily for a couple of months since I got my DS210j.

However, in the last couple of days, when I add a new download (either through an app on my Android phone or the download station on my PC), the file is added to the list, but given a long name of charaxtes rather then the usual file name, and the status is just shown as "waiting".

I have some downloads that have been running a week or so, and they are running OK. But when I pause and then resume them, I just get "waiting".

Something has gone wrong yet I haven't touched any settings!

Hi ...I have the same error since I update from 4.0 BETA to 4.0 . I spent hours testing and re testing with no change. It just suddenly seems to be broken!

I have same problem. Still ,, waiting ,, old normal seed. New one only waiting :?

Try this...

Login to Diskstation with another id. Go to your packages and disable Download Station and enable it. It should work.

I´m tryed and nothing. Change , create Id and still waiting. Reinstall to old version DS new verison and nothing :(

Exactly the same issue for me. Working fine then one day this happened, affects .torrents and magnet links. Nothing starts. I have rebooted and uninstalled/reinstalled Download Station, no change. Been researching possible workarounds for the past few days but nothing yet. Approaching factory reset here...

No answers from Synology in over 3 months? So many unanswered threads in these forums. :(

Just to save everyone else the trouble I've finally been able to determine what seems to cause this - custom port mappings.

I've just completed a full format and factory reset which enabled me to start downloads again. I started to apply my old configuration settings back one at a time and checked the downloads after each change.

I have Download Station and Surveillance Station installed. I applied custom port mapping 9092 to Download station. Started a download - still worked. I installed Surveillance Station. Still worked. Applied custom port mapping 9093 to Surveillance Station. Tried to start a download - stuck on waiting, downloads wouldn't start. I removed the custom port mapping from Surveillance Station, stopped and restarted Download Station and my downloads started to work again.

Not exactly sure of the exact cause of all of this, but this seemed to do the trick for me, it may be the same with other application packages when port mappings are applied.

Hope this helps someone else from going through the same frustration I've had the past few days. :)
