I also have this problem new torrents will not start, pause and resume solves the fault.
Automatic down load with RSS feed starts just fine.
Hope Syno will fix this soon.

Workaround without restarting Downloadstation

Postby Loopi » Sat Mar 24, 2012 11:23 am

I have the same prolem, torrents add as usual but stay in "downloading" state forever.
Checked the BT - Settings in DLStation and all looks like it should.

Then i did right-click one of the pending torrents and selected "Settings". There i found that "max allowed peers" was EMPTY and red bordered. I did enter some amount, e.g. 100, confirmed the settings and voila - the torrent was starting to download in this second. Re-checked the BT Settings, where max allowed peers is set to 100.
Did set this for all pending torrents, all are downloading now. (Hint: You can select them all at once and right-click/go to settings, where you will find all fields blank, just enter the max peers amount, confirm and they will all start immediatly!)

Seems there is a bug when creating torrents, the value for the amount of peers is not read/set correctly to the torrent.

Thanks! :) That did the trick for me!
For the Synology team: I have a DS212J with the 4.0-2198 firmware.

I'm also struggling with this issue, but my max peers is already set to 100 both in general settings and each torrent.... However, I'm struggling with certain sites rather than torrents in general... Torrents from Isohunt works just fine, but Immortalseed-torrents don't start... Incredibly annoying, they've been working perfectly until I switched my 109 for a DS212. Any thoughts on how I can fix this?!?

I have the same problem with the torrents that won't start.

I have tried Loopis solution, and I have also upgraded DSM to the latest version 4.0-2219

Still the torrent says downloading but it just won't start downloading. So annoying. Worked perfectly some weeks ago. Anyone else who has a solution for me?

Thank you
carljoe

Thank you so much for sharing this tip! It works like a charm.
By the way, it's "Edit" rather than "Settings" in the context menu. And the torrent must be in "Downloading" status to see the relevant settings. If it's paused, the settings will not display.

I just upgraded to DSM 4 2219 for my DS210J and downloads seems to just be stuck, and not even starting at all. It says it's "downloading" but it really isn't since there is zero activity in the network.

Been having the same problem. Just wanted to say thanks for the work around! I do hope synology get this fixed though as I use the SynoDS iOS app most of the time so I cant change it on there. I have remote access but work has blocked it :(

Thanks again.

Hi guys,

same issue here! DS412+ with DSM 4.0-2228.

The mentioned workaround does not work for me.
