FileServe premium stopped working

Postby RoelJorna » Sat Sep 17, 2011 7:50 pm

Ever since I installed 3.2 - 1922, I can not use my FileServe premium account with my diskstation. It keeps throwing a 'Premium account required' message.

I have tried the 'normal way' (that is, ticking the verification box and entering username and pw), and also putting username and pw in the url (which works fine in my web browsers). Both didn't work. My credentials do not contain any special characters.

Is this a known bug. Is there anything I can do about this?

Thanks!

So, a week went by. Surely someone (from Synology?) will know if this is a known bug and if there is anything that can be done about it?

A reply would be higly appreciated, thanks!

Did you find a resolution for this? I'm seeing the same issue. I can download fine with Fileserve using my browser but not the Synology download manager.

Thanks.

Restart your NAS, change your WAN IP. I am having the same issues sometimes but resetting my dsl modem and nas solves it.

I'm also having this problem.
Some downloads are working fine, others won't.
The thing is ... as I have a fixed IP ... resetting the modem won't do anything I'm afraid.

Did you already submit an error report, RoelJorna?

I've just found out that the file I was trying to download, contained a space in it.
When replacing the spaces by its HTML-code %20 ... they started downloading.
Maybe that will help you out too?

Contacted the Synology support, but it might help others too ...

A test link:
Code: Select all
http://www.fileserve.com/file/C59Src5/Test file with spaces.txt

When adding this link to the download station, it says 'Premium account required'.
Possible solutions are:
- Replacing spaces by its HTML equivalent '%20'
- Replacing spaces by underscores '_'
- Removing the filename in the link, so it becomes http://www.fileserve.com/file/C59Src5

*edit*: It seems this board automatically converts spaces in links to %20.
Changed url-tag to code-tag

Re: FileServe premium stopped working [SOLVED]

Postby fabstiv » Mon Dec 05, 2011 8:45 pm

I solved trying to insert username and password of my fileserve premium account on download station.

1. Click on Download Station -> Settings -> File Hosting -> Fileserve -> Edit
2. Insert your account user and password
3. Click on verify and OK.

This worked for me.

Enjoy.
