Thanks for good app!!!!
But I have one problem.If i want to download the any file from http://www.rutracker.org by URL in that case i cannot start download because all time i got the message that my file is not BT file.
Could you please somehow comment this strange situation.

I found the possible maybe mistake or not.....
anyway.....yesterday i download the analog program like yours (synolad HD) ...i don't know are You use it this program?
when you want to save the file from tracker in this programm
1. you are click download file (the same like in yours program) and after that program ask you
@What would you like to do with this link@
1.Download and send file
2.Do not download

Maybe problem in one @program sentence @ (sorry for foolishness i'm not a programmer)

But Your programm is better anyway!!!!

Actually if found the problem : this website is considering that I'm downloading from another place so it tells to go on it and click on the link instead of giving the torrent file !
I changed the way I request the file to be compatible with this tracker ! It will be available in next release (It's also solving the issue with torrent411)

Hi there, just bought SynoDS to use with my new 410 - very pleased with it whilst I am inside my own network - however using it from outside is a different matter!

You really need to write *much* better instructions on how to use it and how to create the connection from outside, simple step by step instructions, preferably with screen shots, until them the app will be useless for the majority of users - remember most people won;t be as technical as you.

Hope you can do this soon and I'm looking forward to more updates and a better user guide

The problem about writing a guide for opening port to the "outside world" is that the way to do really depends on the router brand you have !
Here is a fast generic "how-to" just for you

First check the IP of your Synology NAS, and your public IP (the one you are connected to the internet with, http://www.ip-adress.com/ could help you to find it). Note : make sure that Synology's device IP will not change ! For this, either use static IP in Synology's configuration or enable DCHP reservation by MAC address in your router.
For exemple purposes, we will use 192.168.1.23 for Synology's device IP and 12.34.56.78 as a public IP !

Now open your router configuration page (check your router user guide for how to do it).
In your router configuration page, configure NAT forwarding (also called port forwarding). In this exemple I'll configure the router so the Synology device will be available when connection to 12.34.56.78 at port 1234 :
As local IP address, set 192.168.1.23 and as local port set 5000 (or 5001 if you plan to use SSL), as public port set 1234. If you have specific configuration for both TCP and UDP protocols, fill both protocols with the same informations !

You may have to reboot your router for the new configuration to be applied !

Now use your web browser and check that you can connect to http://12.34.56.78:1234 (your public IP and public port), use https if you are using SSL. If everything if ok, then in SynoDS enter the following informations :
Address : 12.34.56.78 (your public IP)
Port : 1234 (your public port)
username/password
and SSL on or off depending on what you have configured previously

- Now working with RSS feeds that opens a webpage
- Count badge to know how many new RSS items are available since your last visit
- Improved download link detection : now compatible with some direct download sites using a free account
- Fixed the "not a BT file" bug with torrent411 and rutracker
- Fixed a potential crash when adding several downloads in a short period of time

Next version should greatly improve downloads from web view and from rss, and https is supported (from what I've tested) !

My issue is that at the moment I didnt fint out a way to recover directly nzb file from internet sites like binsearch for example....The didnt propose an URL address but a button to start the download...

Do you have an idea of the way to process...or maybe this issue will be solved in a future version ???

I've just tested with the new update that is under review by Apple, it's downloading something from binsearch but it should not be valid as the download station put it in error state ... I'll check what's wrong with this !
Next version of SynoDS (1.4) have been tested with these nzb websites (most of them are already working with v1.3.1) :
- NewzLeech.com
- nzbmatrix.com (VIP account)
- nzbindex.nl
- nzbsite.com
- nzbs.org
- MediaNZB (RSS feed)

I'll check what's going on with binsearch, and if it can be fixed, it will be done in the version after 1.4

Adding an external connection to my server works great when im on wlan, but on mobile internet (edge) i have to add https:// infront of the url to make it work. Not sure what that is about. Took me a while to figure that out.
Edit: this is not the case on 3g internet, and i havent found a way to make a connection there yet..

I still get "not a bt file" error on adding from built-in browser. Copying the url and adding it on "more" section works just fine, as do adding from rss feed.

I would strongly encourage an "about" section in the app, listing nice to know info such as author, current version and a link to this forum thread.

Depending on the port that you have forwarded for external access (5000 or 5001), you'll have to enable SSL or not ! All that is done when you enter http or https in the ip address field is automatically enabling or disabling SSL setting !
If things are working over EDGE, it should work over 3G network, unless your mobile phone operator is only allowing some ports (in this case, try to set you public port to 80 and check if it's working over your 3G connection !
