 SynoDS: Synology DL Station on your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch

Wow Sylver - Great work! I've just seen the video you posted on YouTube.

I'm in the process of deciding if I should buy a NAS or not. My primary concern is Rapidshare Premium integration, and unrar functionality.

So my question is: Does the SynoDS app support Rapidshare Premium? if it does, I'm buying a Synology NAS first thing tomorrow, and I will download SynoDS once I have the NAS running. It really looks like an awesome app! Really hope it's got Rapidshare premium support

One last question some of you might be able to answer: is the DS210+ able to unrar files on the NAS? And does it support password protected rar-packages? (sorry for OT, but I've been googling around with no answer, and figured it would be an easy question to someone owning a Synology NAS)

RapidShare premium integration in not in the version currently available but it is in the version I sent to Apple for validation, so it should be available next week
Anyway with current version, it's still possible to run downloads from rapidshare buy using the "add download" tab which allow to specify the username/password to use

I've never tested but I'm pretty sure that you can install unrar by using ipkg (will require some telnet commands), someone with more experience should share his results

Can you make a short destruktion of how Rapidshare will be integrated? I.e. will is be able to check if a file is available online before starting the download?

You'll have to enter your login/password in the (new) setting tab, then using the internal web browser, when you'll tap a rapidshare link, it will ask you what to do : click open and if it does nothing then the link is valid (elseway it'll open an error page) and then tap again and choose "download" and the download will be added on the synology nas
FYI. I've also done a similar application target to another brand of NAS, but their download station is not as good as this one !

Great, the user dloveprod had the same problem.

- wow ! More than 200 entries ? Well, actually SynoDS is not limited, buy maybe the download station is ! If you log to the download station through the web interface, do you have the same limitation ? I'm going to make so tests on my side ...

Download station seems not to be the problem. I had more than 500 tasks in queue / 10 concurrent downloads and it always showed a transfer speed.

- Do you have the same unsteady transfert speed I'm the web interface ? Is it unsteady for global speed or for individual speeds ?

Transfer speed on web interface jumps, too but a) not that extremely and b) it constantly updates. As the value in SynoDS does not update automatically it would be useful to show a more informative value based on a few samples.

When I switch to the "Downloads" tap the first time the shown transfer speed usually is 0 until I refresh

You need to use a .pac file ( http://findproxyforurl.com/iphone_proxy_pac.html ). Socks proxy is mainly useful if you share your connection through a pc, but maybe you think about another use ?

Anyway I was hoping the new release to be validated by the end of this week, but it's still in the "Waiting For Review" state, and the week end is coming ... So it should happen during next week, but I can't tell you exactly when as it depends on when Apple will validate it
