Hi
Congrats on SynoDroid_1.1.198_RC2! (tested in G1 Dream, Android 2.2.1)
I can confirm that screen rotation works in all dialogs I could find.
Previous RC1 was throwing an unexpected error every time SD was started. This is gone in RC2.
Also, the wifi/external settings for each server definition is much better than in first beta (where it was quite confusing).

Oops, I spoke too soon: SD crashes when I try to add a torrent. It happens when I try to add it bey selecting it from the native web browser's Download window as well as when I try to add it via the "Share link" feature.
I sent the crash details via the application crash report.

I guess this is a no-go for me :-(

I was looking at the crash log and it fails at a really odd place... it seems like the connection was not initialised.

I'll investigate this...

It crashes right-away even before the "Connecting to..." popup...

I can't figure it out by looking at the code. There is something in your connection configuration that is wrong and escape my validations.

I'll need the exact configuration parameters that you are using. You can replace the dns names, username, password, ips, SSID to fake one as long as they have the same length. I need all the parameters: protocol, ports, checkbox states, etc...

I will also need the way you are connected while the crash happens: are you over wifi, 3g?? if wifi, was is the SSID ?? You can give me a fake SSID as long as if It matches the one in your connection you give me a match.

If you get me all this I would probably be able to trace the code and find the bug.

Try this : http://synodroid-ds.googlecode.com/files/SynoDroid_1.1.203_RC3.apk

This version will force you to recreate your connections thus I hope fix the problem.

This next version seems very stable to me: http://synodroid-ds.googlecode.com/files/SynoDroid_1.1.211_RC4.apk

I hope no one has any issues with it cause I'm confident that this will be the build uploaded to the market!

- Null pointer exception is fixed while trying to add file if the application was not connected to the nas
- Malformed URL when [] are present in the url is fixed
- First item of the search result not clickable is fixed
- And... There is no more tickets associated to V1.1 :)

Let me know if this build works for you.

Steve

PS.: Eric can you replace the link on the main page to that build please.

Hi steve
I tried rc4 and behaviour is same as rc3: i don't get any unexpected error any more, but torrents only get added when using the share link feature. When selecting a downloaded torrent file via the web browser download window or a file manager, synodroid will open correctly, but torrent is not added.
Anyway, I can live with that... i usually use share link.

There is one thing you need to know tho with adding a file directly. If you click on the link in the browser, the file will be downloaded by synodroid in an second thread which means the added to the list toast message will show up only when the torrent file is finished downloading and being sent to the server. Before it was done in the UI thread which would stop the UI responding. I can add a toast message when the DL of the .torrent start so you know that you have to leave synodroid open.

You have better chance just to click on the nzb file directly. The share link does not always work since there is a bug in the android browser. I have some code to fix the bug when you click on the file directly from your browser. Other than that, I have no clue how nzb file works because I don't use them. If you have an exemple where synodroid doesnt work just send me the link and I'll try to fix it.

Hey everybody,

Don't know if this is the right place to post - but here goes..

I just updated Synodroid, which previously worked flawlessly. The new version (v1.1.233) meant that I lost all my server data, and if I do a new search, nothing comes up - what gives?

I have a synology ds210 running dsm3.0 and my phone is an htc desire hd.

What rights does the user needs ?

I first tried with the admin and i worked fine. Then i made a new user "Phone" but when i use this user nothing shows up on the phonedisplay. It says nothing about problem login just shows a black screen with no downloads showing.

Is it because I on my computer used the admin to start the downloads ang need the admin to show the downloads on the phone ?

Yes: users can only see theirs downloads except admin who can see all downloads. Start a new download with the 'phoné' user: then you will see it.

Hi,

I can connect to my NAS via Syno fine using wifi internally, but externally via 3G/Wifi I get an error: "Error http://*********.no-ip.org:5005/webman/ ... /login.cgi". (I've just replaced my hostname with *'s for this example)

I can access my NAS remotely via WebDav with no problems (everythings allowed through the router/firewall).

Any suggestions why Syno won't connect externally?

Thanks,
Aaron
